Not to get into politics, BUT.(picture below)

This is the AES Somerset Generation Plant, a coal fired power plant. 

Notice NO smoke from the smokestack...meaning

no electricity is being made.

Thanks to more federal regulations

on coal plants and cheaper natural gas.

Natural gas is cheaper in part because

of fracking. Read more here.  
 

Go figure, fracking is making coal too costly.

Of course those protesting coal also are protesting fracking.

The AES plant is one of the biggest tax payers in Niagara county.

There was talked at one time of having the Somerset plant

as a nuclear power plant. Wow, Something else to protest.

The coal plant in Tonawanda, New York, the Huntley Generating Station

my/has reduce power output. 

And the Dunkirk(coal) Steam Generating Station may shut down.

Where do these people think we will get our power from? 

Wind Turbines? (Eagles have been killed in large numbers by wind turbines, e.g. 3.000 golden eagles over 25 years at the huge Altamont Pass windfarm near San Francisco. 
The small turbines used at Altamont are dangerous to various raptors that hunt California Ground Squirrels in the area. 1300 raptors are killed annually, among them 70 golden eagles, which are federally protected; in total, 4700 birds are killed annually)
 Solar(star?) power...at night.

The same tree/animal hugger that has no clue.  Totally clueless. 
 Maybe use all the hot air out of Washington and Albany.
