Parks to close Monday

The Knox Farm State Park in East Aurora is one of the 41 parks and 14 historic sites to be shuttered Monday in a move by the cash-starved state to save $12 million.

Impact of budget deadlock threatens several area sites

ALBANY — The state is carrying through on its threat to close dozens of parks beginning Monday. The list includes Woodlawn Beach, Knox Farm, Joseph Davis and Wilson-Tuscarora state parks.

That is scheduled to come to an end Monday, when parks officials will ensure people do not use the affected facilities. Gates will be locked, and park police will kick out anyone found using the shuttered parks, Larrabee said.

We did not cause the budget shortfall. We pay some of the highest taxes in the nation.
Now we are getting even less for our money.
It looks like our meeting with our local politicians at Wilson-Tuscarora State Park was all for nothing.
